Based out of the Southeast, Alla Luna started out as handmaid hair accessories shop. What began as a pass time for a brand new mom, is now a little business with big goals and ambitions. The company was founded on little hair bows, hair ties and hair clips, and have since evolved to just focusing on women's apparel. Our hope is that you discover something truly exceptional and unique from us.
Alla Luna means "to the moon" in Italian. Growing up our founder Kim was constantly reminded of how much she was loved "to the moon, and back" by her mother. This inspired the name Alla Luna.
The Logo is an upside down crescent moon which imitates our name "Alla Luna" . The placement of the moon is no accidental. The upside down crescent moon is a representation of a headband, along with the three string of stars representing strands of hair, a signature reminder of what jumpstarted this adventure and where this journey will end.
About The People
I am Kim, Founder Alla Luna. When my daughter Remi was born, I was dissatisfied with every hair bow I ordered for they were either poorly made, too large, not contemporary enough for my taste, or not practical for our everyday activities. I open my online shop carrying petite hair bows I made with the hope to help other moms who shared the same wants and frustration. From a petite hair bow shop, Alla Luna, slowly transformed into an online women apparel boutique mainly because I was finding myself annoyed again. Prior to becoming a mom, I typically shopped from high-end contemporary brands. However, as my family grew and my mindset changed, buying clothes from these high end brands no longer aligned with my financial goal. Still, I wanted trendy and quality clothes at an affordable price point, but never realized the challenge I would face finding them. I felt there must a other women who shares this same annoyance and made it a mission to solve this issue for them.
It has always been a dream of mine to start my own company. With my health scare when I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy at 38 weeks pregnant with Remi, I realized that life at any given moment, can change abruptly. Developing Bells Palsy gave me the push I needed to step away from the safety of my 9-5 job to go all in with Alla Luna in the Spring of 2021.
